How do you live life in a way that makes it compensate your hardwork commensurately?
A young man got a contract proposal to sell some goods worth two million and keep two percent of his total sales as his reward. He was a broke alcoholic who surprisingly had very good negotiation and persuasive skills. He could convince you to buy a couch for your home when you really don't have space to accommodate a new set of furniture. Yes, that's how good he was but he rejected the proposal. Why? He never saw the reason why he would get just forty thousand for his efforts, it wasn't enough to compensate his skills and the hard-work associated with selling two million worth of goods. He thought the person he received the proposal to be a very greedy person who wanted to exploit his skills. Yes he was correct, he deserved more for his efforts but he was broke and put himself in that situation. One day he decided to visit one of his friends who was very rich and also had an alcohol addiction to seek for advice on how to improve his finances. Well his rich friend told him it was not his alcohol addiction that was the cause of his predicament. You want to find out the reason?
Have you been in a situation where you worked your socks off and received very little compensation for all your efforts. Probably you don't have the luxury of choices like other people who just switch jobs to finally get what they deserve. The truth is you don't really get the right compensation until you tweak something. We live in a world that rewards hard-work only if you live it like it should reward your hard-work. How do you live life in a way that makes it compensate your hard-work commensurately?
His friend told him "If you are ever going to receive maximum reward for your hard-work and skill then there should be a direct relationship between you and the risk of failure and success"
He continued "By receiving goods worth two million from someone else to sell and receive a reward, there is no direct relationship between you and the risk of failure or success because you don't own the goods. If the goods get stolen or burnt, the owner of the goods bears the loss therefore if the goods eventually get sold he also should enjoy the maximum reward. Your skill and hard-work is not enough to get you anywhere, you should be prepared to risk.
The reward for risk is greater than the reward for effort. Its the single reason why Warren Buffet is richer than the most hardworking person you know.

- Warren Buffet is an accomplished investor and investing is all about taking risks, therefore when his risk pays off he earns more than the salary given to the hardworking CEO with little or no effort.
- Wizkid is earning more than most gainfully employed individuals. He took a risk by choosing an artistic career over the safer job(employee) career. Well his risk payed off and he is getting rewarded with little or no effort.
- Entrepreneurs like Benjamin Franklin, Henry Ford, John D. Rockerfeller, Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Estee Lauder, Ray Kroc, Ralph Lauren, Walt Disney, Jeff Bezos etc took great risks in starting their ventures. They were fully aware that these ventures could fail and they could lose everything but they were fully rewarded for taking those risks.
